Tuesday’s Keynote Speakers

Blaine Rada, Senior National Trainer & Instructional Designer for Arch MI, will open the partner education session discussing how to add a shower of color to your mortgage program by sharpening your sales skills. Rada is an accomplished training professional with a unique ability to explain, coach and inspire, no matter how complex the topic. He develops and conducts versatile training sessions that teach key industry skills.

Previously, Rada developed and managed a multiformat program of webinars and live training acclaimed throughout the industry at CMG Mortgage Insurance Company. He holds a Certificate in Distance Education from Indiana University and is a member of the National Speakers Association. Rada has earned the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation, a recognition held by fewer than 15% of professional speakers worldwide.

Mitch Holthus has been the “Voice of the Kansas City Chiefs” since 1994. He is the longest tenured play-by-play voice in franchise history. In addition to his play-by-play duties, Holthus hosts the “Minute With Mitch” television series that is seen and heard in five states. Holthus also hosts the “Chiefs Insider” television show. Following the NFL season, Holthus is a television play-by-play talent for selected college basketball games.

His talents have been featured on ESPN, FOX, and other national outlets. He has been named “Kansas Sportscaster of the Year” eight times. He has also been named the top play-by-play sportscaster in Kansas nine times by the Kansas Association Broadcasters. In 1996, he was awarded the Hod Humiston Award of Excellence in Kansas Sportscasting. As a result, he is the youngest sportscaster in Kansas’s history to receive every major sportscasting award. Holthus currently owns his own company that features talent, marketing and motivational services.

Wednesday’s Keynote Speaker

Stanley Longhofer will share insight on real estate trends and how they affect Credit Union mortgage lending. Dr. Longhofer holds the Stephen L. Clark Chair of Real Estate and Finance in the Barton School of Business at Wichita State University and is the founding director of the Center for Real Estate. His insights regarding real estate market conditions are widely quoted in local and national media outlets, and he has been featured as an op-ed columnist in the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal’s online edition.  

Prior to coming to Wichita State, Dr. Longhofer was a financial economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland researching problems in mortgage discrimination, financial contracting, and bankruptcy.  While there, he also served as a founding member of the Federal Reserve System’s Fair Lending Advisory Group, consulting with bank examiners on fair-lending issues and developing statistical techniques to uncover mortgage discrimination.
